Folajoke BESTMAN is a Reader (Associate Professor) in the Department of Foreign Languages, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria. She holds a B.A. degree in French, M.A. in Afro-Caribbean Literature in French and Ph.D in African Literature in French. She specialises in Francophone African and Caribbean women’s writings. Her research interest is in the area of Feminism/Womanism and Francophone African/Caribbean Female Writers’ Works, a field in which she has published both in national and international journals. Her works are published under the name: Ajoke Mimiko BESTMAN. She is currently the Head of her Department. In addition, she is a Founding Member of the African Proverbs and Phraseology Society (AFRICAPPS) and the Treasurer of the Society.
